WINEMAKER DINNERS

A journey into the heart of wine-making

BOTTLES & CONVERSATION: FROM VINE TO TABLE

Winemaker dinners, those intimate rituals where vignerons themselves pull up a chair alongside their bottles to share conversations about their craftmanship. They can range from casual, laid-back gatherings where a one-off menu meets a lineup of bottles, to the more rarefied and intimate affairs, where you’re in the presence of living legends of the wine world. Here, only a handpicked few have to opportunity to taste curated cuvées (maybe even some library vintages) and hear the stories behind the terroir, the work in the vineyards and more, straight from the lips of the people behind the craft.

The best of these dinners are neither overly formal nor pretentious. Instead, they conjure a kind of alchemical atmosphere where food, wine, and conversation merge together. Chefs whip up menus designed specifically to honor the wines — a fleeting culinary harmony that exists just for that moment. And when a winemaker leans in, perhaps after a third glass of something too rare to be mentioned casually, explains about tales of rain-soaked harvests and near-miraculous fermentations, you realize: this isn’t just a meal. It’s a journey to the core of what makes wine so human. These are rare opportunities to ask questions, to understand why these wines are unlike any other.

We’ve had the pleasure of hosting luminaries, like Foradori whose wines capture the wild, biodynamic spirit of Trentino, and there are more to come.
